WP:JAZZ importance

[edit]

I've tagged this as "top" importance for [[WP:JAZZ], based on this album being included in The Penguin Guide to Jazz's "Core Collection" (see discussion). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:52, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And I was about to reduce it, for clearly not being of the same importance as a large number of others.... Thanks for the discussion link: I wasn't about at that time. I'm not wholly convinced that using the book is the best way, as it's for building a basic CD collection, not for the jazz project, so attempts to achieve a balance of styles (is Portrait of Sheila more important to this project, or in jazz, than The Blues and the Abstract Truth, Birth of the Cool, My Favorite Things, etc.?). Some in the Core Collection don't get four stars, emphasising this point. I suggest that the standard method (consensus) be used, and suggest 'Mid' for this one.
