Lead
[edit]The lead needs updating on the matter of ownership. It is also unclear. It says that the painting was “the property of Penrhyn Castle” in 2015. Setting aside whether a building can own things, this is certainly incorrect. Penrhyn passed to the state in 1951 in lieu of death duties, and was later vested in the National Trust. I think the art, and much else including most of the land?, remained the property of the Douglas-Pennant family. I’m pretty sure it was they who sold it in around 2015. I also think the export ban is now void, and the painting is on short term loan to the National Museum. It would be good if someone with knowledge of the subject could correct all this. - Not sure about ownership, but all this is no longer current, and so have moved out of the lead and into its own section. Ceoil (talk) 18:08, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
