PortlandNeighborhood is a well respected website which offers an in-depth view of the 95 unique neighborhoods in Portland. I removed the link pending discussion, per the warning in the external links section. Your site is already linked in about 50 Portland neighborhood articles. Though it seems useful, the first thing I notice is the real estate ads. First, please read Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided and Wikipedia:Spam#How not to be a spammer. Now, aside from the fact that if one shouldn't add a link to a site s/he owns or is affiliated with, what do people think about including this link? Too commercial? I don't think it belongs. It does not provide a unique resource, contains objectionable amounts of advertising, and is mainly intended to promote a website. Cacophony 08:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I've personally found it useful in tracking down information about the various Portland neighborhoods, and think that it is a well-done site. I particularly like the [clickable map feature -- something not possible on Wikipedia, is it? But I'll agree with the majority and vote that as useful as it is, it probably doesn't meet the Wikipedia policy, and so should be removed from most pages. (Can a link to the clickable map on the Portland, Oregon neighborhoods page be excepted?) Also, in reply to Pete, are there really NA's that host sites there? Regarding clickable maps, it is possible although I have not made one myself. See Template:NBA labeled map and Template:Caribbean Labelled Map for examples. The ability to make these maps would go a long way. I guess I will dork around with it and see if I can't make a clickable map of the neighborhoods. Cacophony 05:48, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

www.eventspring.com

EventSpring.com is a useful website [1] that publishes events in the Portland area. They have calendars and locations by activity type. You can access it by mobile phone. There is a free newsletter one can signup for that publishes top events weekly. This may be a good candidate for the External Links section of the Portland, Oregon wiki page. Thoughts? I don't even think this one is worth discussing. The majority of the page is devoted to advertising and the site does not contain anything that the A&E section of any one of our several newspapers does not cover better already.
