[edit]The PDN checker gives the following warnings about the examples given on this page:

- The convention to use "??" for an unknown date value is inconsistent with PGN. - In chess a FEN value is not ended with a dot.
Furthermore one of the examples ends with '1/2-1/2 {a very popular position} 1/2-1/2'. This is probably a mistake, the PDN checker interprets the part '{a very popular position} 1/2-1/2' as a new game.
