- ... that the hiking track through the Pororari River Gorge has become part of New Zealand's newest Great Walk, the Paparoa Track (video shown)? Source: Experience our newest Great Walk – a purpose-built, shared-use hiking and mountain biking track within the Paparoa National Park on the West Coast of the South Island. Further in the same document, it says: "At the junction with the historic Inland Pack Track, hikers and mountain bikers diverge: hikers follow the track beside the Pororari River through the lower gorge". And a second source says that the Pororari River Track is the pedestrian entry/exit for the Paparoa Great Walk.

- Comment: Ok, the plan is to also expand the Paparoa Track and then add it to this nomination (yes, it's technically 8 days old today) to make it a double. I've heard from several people how amazing the Paparoa Track is; I myself have only walked through Pororari Gorge (years ago, before the Paparoa Track had been thought of). The video is super-cool but it would really only work for the Paparoa Track article, hence I'll tackle that next.
- Comment: Paparoa Track has now been expanded, too (not by me; Marshelec is QPQ exempt with two credits thus far (and I shall work on getting him to become a regular DYK contributor), from 600 Bytes to 4112 Bytes. Schwede66 22:58, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I've now significantly added to the Paparoa Track article and have thus added a credit and a QPQ. Schwede66 23:33, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
5x expanded (Pororari River) by Schwede66 (talk). Self-nominated at 08:26, 3 July 2022 (UTC).
5x expanded (Paparoa Track on 8–9 July) by Marshelec. Added to this nomination at 10:50, 9 July 2022 (NZST).
- Both articles are new enough and large enough expansions (Pororari doesn't flag in DYKcheck, likely an error...manual checking proves it's a 5x). Double QPQ is present. Hook fact checks out (and no Great Walks had been added in 32 years, so it's still likely the newest). Media is freely licensed (CC-BY 4.0, NZ government)...been a while since I've seen a video in the image slot! Suggestion to Schwede66 — a ref is titled "Untitled" in Pororari River, and that should probably be fixed. Hook fact source is used in the river article (another in the track article). - Thanks, Sammi Brie. I shall take a look at that. Schwede66 07:29, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
