The page is intended to be a resouce for those of us who are working on the pop punk article. In order to verify this information let's stick to a format. The proposed formats will be described at the top of each section. If you have any suggestions to improve the format, please write immediately below the paragraph and before the first band in the list. Use a "star" to make it easy to read. Finally, keep the list alphabetized. Xsxex 21:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
List of pop punk groups
Proposed format; (begin format) "(1)Star, used to create a bullet in the list. (2)Name of the band in brackets for wikipedia link. (note please script the bracket in the case that the band name includes "(band)" or other such additional text apart from the actual band name. Band names should appear as used by the band.) (3)Comma. (4)Dates of activity, ("now" denotes bands that are still active as of August 2006, these should be changed as bands break up, also use a "?" following the date if there is reasonable uncertainty such as no sources cited). (5)comma. (6)one US state (or) country of origin/main association. (7)comma. (8)If the band contains members/ex-members of another put the name of the band name(s) here, (Use format, "mem-bracketed name of band" for bands that share members. Use "ex-bracketed name of band" for bands that have members of a former band). (11)comma. (8)bracketed website(s) other than wikipedia for reference. (9)comma. (12)if there is unverified information and you want to contact the band or verify it somehow by looking for links you can do that by (Use format, "Verifying. (space)4 tildas") to mark that you are working on it." (end format)
- As the list grows we can split it into the sections represented in the history section of the pop punk article. Thanks! Xsxex 20:11, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Use United States postal abbreviations when noting the bands origin, or their associated location. If it is a country other than the US, then write the whole name of the country with the first letter capitalized. Xsxex 05:51, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
