Shushu/Chouchou

[edit]

Shouldn't it be Shushu because the title of the single blatantly says: シュシュ. If you look on the Katakana page, you will see that it means Shushu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.11.143.1 (talk) 15:37, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:J - If an English spelling is not available, but a spelling from another language of origin exists, use it (i.e., Homard (ja:オマール Omāru) rather than Omāru, and Zha cai (ja:ザーサイ Zāsai) rather than Zāsai). Therefore instead of "Shushu" we use "Chouchou" which is French for scrunchie. 追人YumeChaser 22:39, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I take multiple issues with this:
1. English spelling is available: "scrunchie".
2. Why not also translate "to" to "and"?
3. Chouchou is the Japanese word for butterflies. To anyone who speaks Japanese, the title looks like a mistake.
Can't we make an exception here? 220.96.12.133 (talk) 14:10, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it should be shushu. I don't know what context you change an original foreign word into another foreign word for a song title but certainly this is not the context where you'd want to do that. Changing "poniiteeru" to ponytail makes sense but shushu into either scrunchie or chouchou really makes no sense to me. Besides if you look around, everyone (at least english speakers) know this song specifically as "ponytail to shushu" so I encourage someone to go ahead and change this. 173.80.102.159 (talk) 18:03, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Now English spelling available on [video clip of AKB48 official YouTube channel] (from 3:08), which shows the title of this song "Ponytail to Shushu". Since official English name is given, this article should be renamed.---What can I do for someone?- (talk) 09:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
yeah, I think that shushu should be used, and since I learn japanese, I also know that Chouchou is butterfly, and the name in the first paragraph is alkso with shushu...My1xTreme (talk) 06:57, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
