Brents and slavery
[edit]I removed several "citations needed" tags this morning, which were added to a paragraph I added last evening (which would be the cite to all the sentences I added to the paragraph). Please look at my note yesterday on the talk page for William Leigh Brent. Unfortunately, the bound French typescript in the Fairfax County Virginia library's local history reference section is the best source I've found for Brent family geneology, though it's coy about the family's plantation operations, much less involvement in slave trading. It's based on the Chilton and other geneological volumes. I invite local historians to consult the Maryland archives in Baltimore for better sources, but I don't have time to make that trek.Jweaver28 (talk) 16:49, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
- You need something more than an unpublished manuscript as a reliable source. There were several statements made, each tagged. When you find a source, this is the place to discuss its suitability for the statements. TEDickey (talk) 21:27, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
