The current wording suggests that Barrett is responsible for the subgrouping of the family, particularly the southern subgroup; but I believe that grouping is more modern. Oswalt certainly argued for it, not sure about other recent linguists. Will try to expand this section... babbage (talk) 02:37, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
