"Polytechnic West" vs "The Polytechnic of Western Australia"
[edit]I'm curious about the name change, because from what I can see, there is absolutely no mention of 'The Polytechnic of Western Australia' on the current website. I understand that it has been called 'The Polytechnic of Western Australia' in the past, but all recent official publications do not, and is instead referred to as simply 'Polytechnic West'.
Furthermore, all legal information that I can find refers to the institution as 'Polytechnic West'. For example, it is registered with the ABR as such (http://www.abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?abn=62743829896).
My question is therefore, should the name be 'The Polytechnic of Western Australia', or 'Polytechnic West'? All evidence that I've found suggests that it should be the latter.

I should also mention that for the current logo, the subtext 'The Polytechnic of Western Australia' was not present in the alleged source 'Student Prospectus 2012', but was added in by the uploader. Jffner (talk) 09:21, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Requested move 23 May 2020
[edit]
The request to rename this article to Polytechnic West has been carried out. |
The Polytechnic of Western Australia → Polytechnic West – The name Polytechnic West was the institute's official name when it was established in 2009 until the formation of South Metropolitan TAFE in 2016. The name The Polytechnic of Western Australia was seldom (or never?) used in school's publications. Sources: WA Government Gazette and ABN status – McVahl (talk) 06:02, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- What is the point you carry a bold move yourself and then tag the talk page for {{RM}}? Matthew hk (talk) 10:15, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
