Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because this article is still being edited and information is still being added. This article also expands on the topic of Polymer Matrix Composites which is not defined in wikipedia yet, although mentioned in an existing article. --UsernameInUse (talk) 04:29, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
@UsernameInUse: I'm struggling to see how this isn't just duplicating Thermoset polymer matrix. I'm no expert in polymer chemistry though; is there a substantial class of such polymers that are not thermoset? It looks a bit to me as though this article should be merged with that one and then maybe moved to this title. GoldenRing (talk) 12:06, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
@GoldenRing: I can see the similarities with this and thermoset polymer matrix, but the difference is that PMC includes both thermosets and thermoplastics. Thermoset polymer matrix consists of resins that are just that, thermosets, whereas PMC is a broader term that can include both thermoset and thermoplastic resins. Although I agree that thermoset is the more wildly used form. I hope my arguments make sense. UsernameInUse (talk) 15:11, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
@IVORK: Could you comment on the above, please? I'm inclined to remove the CSD notice and give UsernameInUse a chance to expand this into something useful. GoldenRing (talk) 15:14, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
@GoldenRing: I had tagged it based on how similar it was to the article and that an expansion / merge would appear to be more suitable as creating an article that doesn't duplicate information from Thermoset polymer matrix or Thermoplastic would seemingly have little content. You're fine to remove the notice if you wish. — IVORK Discuss 21:51, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
- @IVORK: – Thanks for getting back to me. @UsernameInUse: – I've removed the CSD tag and replaced it with some appropriate maintenance tags. Please do expand the article; if this doesn't happen it's very likely to end up at AfD in relatively short order. GoldenRing (talk) 10:45, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
