Cadavers As Props
[edit]I remember watching the special "The Poltergeist Curse" and it was only one prop corpse that turned out to be real, one used in the second movie if I remember correctly. Craig T. Nelson says there were bizarre problems prior to the discovery and things finally went smoothly after the corpse was discovered, given a proper burial, and an exorcism done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HPMikhal (talk • contribs) 02:05, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
I found an interview where Jobeth Williams claims that she found out after the fact that the skeletons were real, though I wouldn't call that quite the same as a confirmation that what she heard was true (she didn't say how she learned it, for example; for all we know it could have been she just heard the same internet rumor everyone else did.) The interview can be watched at http://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/Poltergeist-Curse-True-Story-37392582 at about the 3:50 mark. --2601:8C3:8104:D6B0:79D5:36EF:DE5D:4FA3 (talk) 09:23, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
I was also able to find a snippet of an interview on Google Books. This one looks more legit -- from what it shows, real imported skeletons may have been used (though this due to time constraints and to achieve realism, not financial as often reported.) Also it sounds like it was skeletons only, not whole rotting corpses as often reported. https://books.google.com/books?id=5VQqAQAAIAAJ&q=poltergeist+%22real+skeletons%22&dq=poltergeist+%22real+skeletons%22&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj89_eN08jQAhUi7YMKHejSC7UQ6AEIHTAA --2601:8C3:8104:D6B0:79D5:36EF:DE5D:4FA3 (talk) 09:47, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunate fates?
[edit]This seems a little vague. What actors suffered what fates?
fates:
[edit]- Dominique Dunne: Strangled by ex-boyfriend at age 22
- Heather O'Rourke: Died of septic shock at age 12
- Will Sampson: Died of cancer shortly after Poltergeist II was released
- Julian Beck: Also died of cancer, before Poltergeist II was finished post-production.
- Geraldine Fitzgerald and Beatrice Straight have also passed away.
- Brian Gibson also died.
I think there should be more emphathis on the "Poltergeist Curse" and a better and less subjetive synopsis of Poltergeist III.
Cleanup
[edit]I've cleaned up film 1, 2 and 3 still need a lot of work. JoshuaZ 22:57, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Kennedy-Marshall
[edit]The language of the article implies that Kennedy and Marshall are no longer married, but neither of their individual articles says so, so what gives? Anchoress (talk) 01:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Poltegeist LD.jpg
[edit]Image:Poltegeist LD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"The Twilight Zone" Connection
[edit]"Poltergeist" seems to have been derived from a "Twilight Zone" TV episode titled "Little Girl Lost" written by Richard Matheson from March 16, 1962.

Director credit
[edit]I've removed Spielberg's directorial credit, as he is not credited as the director. Unsubstantiated speculation about the extent of Spielberg's creative control as producer does not justify departing from the existing onscreen credit for director, which goes solely to Tobe Hooper. Redirect Henry Kane
[edit]I was looking for information on mystery author Henry Kane and was redirected to Poltergeist (film series)? Does not make any sense to me... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.74.75.0 (talk) 18:52, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
