Political history?

I question the section titled "Political history". It is a false and a misrepresentation to make it seem as if Puerto Rico's political history began in 1898. This article will be totally useless to those who may attempt to use it as an educational reference unless the political history of the island is traced from it's roots prior 1898. That is one of the reasons that I wrote the "Military history of Puerto Rico, because prior to my article it was falsely assumed that Puerto Rico's military history began post-1898. Just my thoughts.
