Comment
[edit]- It appears that a number of the United States presidential candidate biographies or presidential campaign pages on Wikipedia have an associated "Political views of ____" article.
- There is a discussion of the merits of changing the name of Political views of Mitt Romney to Political positions of Mitt Romney, or, depending on how the conversation develops, some other name.
- In case you're interested, go to Talk:Political views of Mitt Romney#Requested move.
- The conversation there might influence other "Political views" articles.
Ratings?
[edit]Why is only the NARAL rating included? Isn't that a little biased? Cato152.23.91.128 01:52, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
?!
[edit]Hey why isn't there a list of the Republican Candidates' positions on other stuff, like the Iraq war and same-sex marriages (PS> same sex marriages suck)?
Ron Paul
[edit]Just out of curiosity, why has Ron Paul been omitted from this page? JLMadrigal 13:00, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Tommy Thompson, Jim Gilmore, and John Cox also need to be added. I would add some stuff, but it seems that adding information to wikipedia charts is over my head. Granola Bars 06:12, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Heh. The first two candidates I pointed out have withdrawn, and it seems Cox probably isn't important enough to mention. Granola Bars 14:38, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Someone recently edited the article to ask why Ron Paul was not included. It's because few people know this article exists, and it hasn't been edited much. Sam Brownback has withdrawn his candidacy, and the article suggests that even this late in the game Newt is still being seriously considered as a potential nominee. Replaced link in United States presidential election, 2008 table
[edit]In the interest of objectivity, I have replaced the link to this page as "Republican Candidates' Beliefs" in the "United States presidential election, 2008" table with 2008 Republican presidential candidates, and have added one for 2008 Democratic presidential candidates. The existing article is NAROL-biased. Should all of the candidates and a wider range of ratings on multiple issues be included, this could be a fine article worthy of placement in the table. Cluttered with non-candidates
[edit]I believe this page should be updated to reflect the current candidates. The other information can be added to the end of the article as former candidates. patsw (talk) 02:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
I just tried to remove Gingrich completely, but I messed it up. Can't figure out how to do it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Granola Bars (talk • contribs) 05:31, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Aside from massive updates, the article also needs to be renamed. The current name doesn't specify that this is discussing Republican Presidential primary candidates only, as opposed to every Republican candidate for office in 2008. Needs a lot of work. · jersyko talk 15:53, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
