Talk:Polish Army

I understand why some people would expect to find information on the land forces of Poland here. However, the term "Polish Army" already has a well-established meaning in English sources and it refers to all Polish forces, regardless of branch. "Polish Army" (as opposed to "Polish army") is probably a literal translation of Polish: Wojsko Polskie, which is much wider in scope and meaning than "land army of Poland". Needless to say, the Armed Forces of Poland themselves use the term as a synonym to their official name.

This fact is reflected in the prevalent use throughout both English and Polish sources and in articles that use this redirect. What is more, it is also true to many related terms. For instance the Polish Army Stadium is "stadium of the Polish Armed Forces", not just of the land forces. Polish Army Museum documents the history of all the Polish military formations, not just the land forces. Polish Army oaths are sworn by members of all branches. Polish Army Medal is given to any soldier of the Polish Army, not just to the grunts. This is also true in historical contexts: the Polish Army in France (1939–40) included all three branches.
