Bicycle characteristics

[edit]

This section would be much more interesting if it talked about the special characteristics that police bikes have. At the moment it mainly says they have lights, which is a legal requirement in most countries, and a rack, which most non-police bikes do. Rich257 12:45, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Electric Police Bicycles and Classic British Police Bikes

[edit]

I'd like to add sections on classic English police bicycles and on the rapidly-expanding role of electric bicycles in police work. S'aright?

Too Much Info on Noseless Saddles?

[edit]

The recently-added information on noseless saddles seems a bit excessive to me. I'd like to pare it down to one or two sentences, with a wikilink to another article that covers the matter in more detail. Police bikes were chosen as very good candidates for the study on noseless saddles because officers spend so much time in the saddle. However, the results of the study address the larger cycling community, not just bike cops. Thoughts? Ebikeguy (talk) 17:34, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't that really belong in the bicycle article or one on bike saddles? Just because it included police use does not mean that it is needed here. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:49, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think a very brief mention of it may be warranted in this article, but the main language should be in the Bicycle saddle article. Ebikeguy (talk) 18:14, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
