WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required
This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article for the Comics WikiProject. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Real Name?
Pre-Crisis, Ivy's real name was Lillian (Lilly) Rose as shown in her origin in World's Finest 252, which is cited on the page. Her name is not Pamela Isley in this issue. This should indeed be noted, though I understand it has likely been ret-conned. I will re-read Batman #181 to clarify her name in that as well, but it appears she was originally Lillian Rose. This is my first post/correction, so I hope I'm going about this properly. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Areallysincereguy (talk • contribs) 18:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Protected
I've protected the page in the hopes of fostering discussion on what the infobox image should be. Note that any and every editor, including IPs, are welcome to appropriately contribute to the discussion. - jc37 04:22, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Frankly, I agree the infobox image could be a better one, the major issue being "It's a group". But the guide line is fairly clear: the infobox image should strive to be of the iconic depiction of the character. As such the current image attains that better than the suggested change, the cover of Joker's Asylum: Poison Ivy". - J Greb (talk) 22:56, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Unprotected
No discussion (a single comment, as of this timestamp), therefore no reason to leave this protected.

Vegetarian
I notice Ivy's in the categoty "fictional vegetarians". Is there any evidence in the comics for this? It seems to go against her ethos that the lives of plants are more important than those of animals. Daibhid C 17:29, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- That's a very good point actually. Has she ever been depicted eating? and if so, what? Does she subsist entirely on animals (could a human do that and survive?) or just eat soil? Just about everything is made of plants, even dirt.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 00:34, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
"LGBT supervillains" & "Fictional bisexuals"?
I've noticed that this article is included in the "LGBT supervillains" and "Fictional bisexuals" categories. Am I missing the authoritative and definitive proof of these claims in the article, or has the 'vague suspicion of bisexuality' become a sufficient criteria for assigning the categories to the article?
It was already a ludicrous stretch for the Harley Quinn article, justified only by a vague reference to "Thrillkiller". But Ivy?!? Even though I'd argue that she's a better candidate for being labelled bi (or heck, just plain ol' lesbian) than harley, there still has to be some proof for it if the categories are going to be added... right? 139.57.100.104 (talk) 23:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- this is a constant source of POV push from pro-LGBT editors, seeking to expand the range, and from horny fanboys with dreams. Just remove it, I'll do it this time. Until/unless we get good sources, it should stay out. ThuranX (talk) 16:11, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Harley and Ivy are lesbian icons! The pair have a huge following as a couple, and many DC writers and artists have filled their stories with innuendos such as constant hugging and touching between the two, naked fights, showering together, casually exposing themselves to one other unabashedly, and sharing the same bed. It's so apparent, but I guess some need them to wear a pink triangle or hold a Wile. E. Coyote sign saying "I'm gay." If the Batman article has a section addressing accusations of homosexuality with less evidence then this article should address the sexual aspect of their relationship too.--69.107.93.26 (talk) 10:24, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- The Batman article refers to the work of Frederic Wertham quite clearly and specifically, thus providing both full and proper citation and direct real-world relevance. You provide your fan-fueled interpretation of in-universe content, and no authoritative, verifiable citation on the matter from people qualified to judge the subject matter. Until you get that, no, it should NOT be included. ThuranX (talk) 04:56, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Cleanup
I meant 'Jan 06' in my latest edit. Oops. 204.69.40.7 12:27, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
The main article gives a synopsis of nearly the entire "Batman & Robin" movie. Far too much material and detail; the article should be about Poison Ivy, not a movie she appeared in. 72.42.185.136 (talk) 02:12, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
Moving to Poison Ivy (character)
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 02:09, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Poison Ivy (comics) → Poison Ivy (character) – It should be moved to Poison Ivy (character) to follow WP:PRECISION and "unambiguously define the topical scope of the article". --Relisted. Dekimasuよ! 02:27, 12 November 2014 (UTC) --76.175.67.121 (talk) 17:10, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. Poison Ivy is not only a comics character. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 02:57, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:NCCOMICS, which states, "...the agreed general disambiguation phrase used for articles related to comics, including creators, publications, and content, is '(comics)'." I also find that "character" reduces recognizability, which is a characteristic to consider per WP:CRITERIA. I understand that this figure has appeared in other media, but his most recurring presence is in the comics. Other kinds of appearances are secondary. --Crazy runner (talk) 07:49, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose since Poison Ivy (comic book) does not exist. Moving to proposed target causes unnecessary disambiguation at this time. Steel1943 (talk) 03:25, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose "Poison Ivy" is a character in many properties, such as Poison Ivy (film) and the stage persona of musician Kristy Marlana Wallace "Poison Ivy (character)" should redirect to the disambiguation page. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:12, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Joker/Mask
Uhm, at what point did this "break from continuity"? Clearly whoever wrote that has never read the "Harley Quinn" one-shot, the "Harley Quinn" standalone series or the recent "Harley and Ivy" miniseries. There's been lesbian subtext cropping up between these two in way more places than Joker/Mask you know...

Love interest of Batman?
I suggest that the relationship tagline with Batman be removed. Unless someone can prove that they truly have any romantic feelings for one another- past, present, or otherwise- then there is no reason that this should exist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.17.68 (talk) 21:42, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
