VS Single-Nucleotide Polymorphism

[edit]

A Single-nucleotide polymorphism is a point mutation that is found within a population. Surely one of these pages should mention the other? —Preceding unsigned comment added by FergusRossFerrier (talkcontribs) 16:22, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

It has been suggested that Cellular reproduction and DNA replication: Point mutation be merged into this article or section.

The 4th reference, specifically

is a broken link.

This article is incorrect. Point mutation is an umbrella term for all mutations that occur in for a single nucleotide. It is NOT synonomous with substitution mutation. This article must be altered accordingly, and another article must be made for substitution mutation. --Man of Steel 85 (talk) 15:11, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
