Too much emphasis on scoring format
I think there is too much emphasis on the score format during the slam definition in the first paragraph. I think this because I've seen a lot of slams that didn't use score cards, I've seen slams that didn't drop the highest and the lowest score and I've seen many slams that use a 1 vs. 1 Elimination formatting. During 1 vs 1 elimination slams poets are paired off into separate corners and a vote will be had on which poet has won. this can either involve judges, audience applause, or audience voting. But in this method there is no scoring. The two Canadian slams that have the highest price price money nation wide use this formatting.
Basically I think the competitive element of slam is more important for it's definition then the method of deciding a winner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RideTheFunktopus (talk • contribs) 02:22, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
