Powidl is a type of plum butter. Another type is a Magiun of Topoloveni from Romania which is a PDO product. So it makes sense to rename this page to the more general foodstuff name with varieties as sections in the article. The problem is that the plum butter page in a lot of languages links to powidl. Once this page gets its on wikidata, I can start to disambiguate the links in European languages (I don't know any other, so speakers of any Asian languages could help here, tremendously).
I know that for many English speakers plum butter vs plum jam, puree, marmelade is the same. But in European law, they are not. Each must meet certain legal requirements in order to be called one way or another. Plum butter does not have sugar added, while the rest do: marmalade has (approx. 200 g/ 1 Kg), jam (approx. 300 g), preserves (more than 500 g). So each should have its own wikidata, to be able to link them in other languages. It's not that they are different names to refer to the same thing; they are different things. ♦ WikiUser70176 ♦(My talk page)22:33, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
