Canadian Coast Guard vs Transport Canada

Safe Boating Guide

Obtaining PCOC from prior certification
[edit]The following statement is inaccurate and so was removed:
- Commercial mariners who hold certain, recognized professional maritime certificates of competency, such as Master Mariner, can apply to obtain a PCO Card for having on board while operating a pleasure craft, for convenience. No test is required for this.
Regulations clearly state that a PCOC can only be issued following the successful completion of an accredited test. Although a Master Mariner certificate may serve as proof of competency (proof of certification would need to be carried on board while operating), a PCOC cannot be issued unless an accredited test is passed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aczarto (talk • contribs) 12:02, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
