Comment

[edit]

I changed the "article" to a redirect because, frankly, it was nothing but a slam on the Dallas neighborhood. If "Pleasant Grove, TX competes with Oak Cliff to be the official "ghetto" area Dallas, Texas." counts as NPOV, I'll stick to Uncyclopedia. --Robertb-dc 15:42, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's no slam on the neighborhood..Pleasant Grove is a ghetto..Period.Facts are facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.186.215.94 (talk) 03:41, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New article..

[edit]

Rewrote as simply a base article. No use in having it redirect if people who would willingly edit it with correct content don't have direct access to it...

-drummy.

John Runyon Elementary, St. Agustine Catholic School and H. Grady Spruce High School are also in the Grove area.

Boundaries

[edit]

The boundaries are wrong, because it says the trinity river is to the west. The is no way the trinity river is the boundaries to the west, because that would make the South Dallas/Fair Park area part of pleasant grove . (Which it is not.)

Suggested Boundaries

[edit]

To me, the boundaries are GENERALLY Jim Miller Rd, US 175, Masters Dr, and 30/80 to the north. Of course these boundaries include a portion of Mesquite and probably Balch Springs, and Pleasant Grove goes beyond these boundaries in certain places, but the area between these roads would generally be referred to as Pleasant Grove. Any objections to posting these roads as the boundaries? Jameywiki (talk) 02:24, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to post these boundaries. It agrees with the Roads and Highways sections, with the exception of I-635. I do not believe Pleasant Grove touches 635. Do you disagree? I'm going to remove 635 from the Highways.Jameywiki (talk) 23:58, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As a resident of an area Parkdale which is usually included in Pleasant Grove, let me state this: Pleasant Grove used to be an unincorporated town that was annexed by Dallas in the 1950's MANY of the neighborhoods that area attributed to Pleasant Grove existed BEFORE the annexation. I have edited the article to reflect this and mention that the sources pulled from the media are NOT accurate. The Dallas Morning News nearly never gets this right and even included the Autobahn Center in Oak Cliff or just South Dallas. Pleasant Grove used to have a city line and it is my and others belief that that should be used as the boundaries for the location. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jla3114 (talkcontribs) 20:50, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Famous Residents

[edit]

Didn't Larry Johnson grow up on Dixon Circle? Thats near Fair Park and is really pushing the Pleasant Grove boundary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jameywiki (talkcontribs) 19:29, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Quality concerns / Argumentative

[edit]

The following passage clearly doesn't belong:

"Pleasant Grove did not annex surrounding communities, Dallas did. Pleasant Grove borders did not change. It is like referring to all sodas as "Coke". It is incorrect."

Similarly, the following is ridiculously non-NPOV:

"Many of the crimes attributed to Pleasant Grove, are in actuality not ours, but belong to the neighboring communities and beyond."

"Ours"? Really?

I'm not removing it, because it's only symptomatic of general quality concerns in the whole section, and somebody who knows more than I should address them.76.121.187.193 (talk) 09:37, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs lots of content that conforms to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. Also references, verifiable boundaries and photographs. drumguy8800 C T 09:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
