Player of the Week

[edit]

Player of the Week. —Wknight94 (talk) 19:48, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
what i mean is, can we create a complete list? Kingturtle 01:04, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find one, gopher it!  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 02:08, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'd love to find one. MLB.COM doesn't have one. Kingturtle 06:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What about pitcher of the month? Does anyone know if it exists? Doesn't show up in any quick search. --AndrewHowse 14:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page with empty table at User:AndrewHowse\Pitcher of the month. I'll bring it into namespace in a day or two, if there are no objections.--AndrewHowse 21:14, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Move seems unnecessary, unless User:Mglovesfun can cite any existing articles that could be confused. If the NFL, Premier League, Australian Football LEague, etc, institute their own player of the month then we can disambiguate appropriately at that time. --AndrewHowse 17:41, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

winning in different leagues

[edit]

mark teixeria has won the award once in the AL, and now once in the NL. is this still considered winning the award twice, and does he get the "Mark Teixeria (2)" treatment? if so, should we asterisk those players who've won in different leagues? only reason i bring this up is because historically teh leagues have been much more seperated, and even now when a player is traded to another league in the middle of the season their stats are reset. I'd say the answer to your first question is "Yes" and to the second question I'd say "No"; I think the way you added August is correct. I looked back to '74 and found Gaylord Perry to be the first to win in both leagues, in the 3rd month of the AL award, so it's been going on for a while. Winning in each league is an interesting curiosity, but I'm not sure there's any great conclusion to be drawn. --AndrewHowse 14:33, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
