1960's Seattle Playboy Club
I apologize for the length of this message, however I do have several questions at the end of the message
My father Clarke Cole had a key that he showed me. This was not a surprise to us as he was Clark Gable/Colin Farrell handsome, gregarious, sexy & because he had basically the highest senior Captain flights. His well known nickname was Captain Cool which seemed. had enough money to move us to a Mercer Island lakefront home. I could keep my horse on our property & Dad could have any boat that he wanted & my brothers happily cruised around the island on Honda 90 motorcycles. Dad definitely fit the bill to enjoy the club because he was quite the ladies man. My wonderful, patient & beautiful Mother just dealt with because she knew that this was his nature going all the way back to high school. Plus he was a honest to goodness hero not once on many & mostly covert missions for the military. At the very end of World War he zoomed thru his studies about fighter jets then excelled at flying the jets & came out the youngest pilot at only nineteen to make Captain status. He flew into Berlin's airport having to fly dangerously close to a tall apartment building. All of the pilots brought candy, gum & evidently sweet raisins because the Germans gave them the affectionate nicknames Rosenenbombers or Raisin Bombers. Then later our military stepped in when the Arabs were persecuting the very poor but religious Adenite Jews. They mostly lived in caves in a dry & depleted environment. The walked sometimes hundreds of miles or rode if they were fortunate enough to have a donkey. Many were persecuted, robbed or killed & some children kidnapped to become slaves. Dad must have volunteered for the very first flight however was so humble that he seldom talked about except in a sarcastic with his fellow pilots on the mission Many of the refugees became ill & died. By the time they reached Aden in Yemen their clothes hung in shreds on their bodies & some were naked. Dad didn't give us any details or stories about his adventures as he usually did with interesting & inspiring stories to tell. He also flew in the Korean & Pacific airlifts. My Mom was also on these airlift flight after she graduated from nursing school & came from Montana to Monterey then up North to Alaska with her sister. It was because my Mother wss pretty, svelte & the then requirement that stewardesses be registered nurses. Mother joined Alaska Airlines & was sometimes a stewardess on Dads flights. I think that's just love & fate plus the reason I'm here.
NHowever he did bring home and show us a photo that was likely to have been taken by the bunny photographer that night. A long haired with thick bangs a dark haired, sexy 60's exotic Ronnie Spector appearance. I'll figure out how to add a photo to this post or page, if not please let me know an email or better & preferred method.
It's a great photo because the dbunny was draped onto his side & Dad had on an ear to ear grin! So....to make a long story short my question are: I apologize for the length of this message, however I do have several questions at the end of the message Did the Seattle Playboy Club open late in the 60's & not remain open long? It's a great photo because the dbunny was draped onto his side & Dad had on an ear to ear grin! So....to make a long story short my question are: 1) When & where did the Seattle club open & why isnt
the mentioned onthe last article about city ication's. Can you give me the months & years the Seattle club was open. This might help me whatć
The last article was about the worldwide locations of all the Playboy Clubs & information about each one. However in previous & the last article I read usually does not mention Seattle's club.
Question Can you give me the month & year the Seattle Playboy Club was opened & why it closed so soon. My hunch is that there perhaps had low attendance & was not profitable
2) What is your preference as to how I can send you the very happy photo of my grinning Dad with a mischievous smile on his face!
If l am able get you the photo, do pthink we can estimate what year it was & perhaps try to find Siouxcole (talk) 16:02, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
