Call Costs
[edit]As the costs from different networks apply to all 1516 numbers, is including this in this particular article a bit excessive, why not create a separate entry for Irish premium rate numbers, or link to one if it already exists. 87.198.20.197 (talk) 19:09, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Well each network charges different prices, and as far as I know there is no current article, so it would be best if left up. --Emmetmcl1994 (talk) 20:20, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Fiona
[edit]This is for User:JG Murphy Would it be possible to expand the information about Fiona, I cannot find anything on the official site relating to her 87.198.20.197 (talk) 19:11, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I have updated the presenters section with Fiona's details. JG Murphy (talk) 11:12, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Screenshots
[edit]Does anyone have any screenshots that won't get deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JG Murphy (talk • contribs) 11:12, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- For non-free images, you must provide a rationale. See Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline for details. If you don't, they will get deleted as you have witnessed. --87.198.39.178 (talk) 21:42, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Unofficial website
[edit]It is enough that it is mentioned in the external links section. There is no need to interfere with the info box. JG Murphy (talk) 15:05, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. I thought it would be more useful to have it up there too though. --Emmetmcl1994 (talk) 22:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Would you guys please stop talking please? 78.16.164.230 (talk) 23:16, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
vandalism removed
[edit]I have today removed numerous vandalism edits and other crap. What exactly have you removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.107.78.165 (talk) 19:11, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Go to the history tab to see what was removed. most of it was namecalling and abusive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.198.21.15 (talk) 18:23, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Derval Mellett
[edit]Derval has left the show. Please stop editing the article to show her as a current presenter.
Ahem, first of all, sign your comments and second of all, Derval is a smoking sexy bitch. I think she should totally have her own page to herself like so that we could totally have like tonnes of sext pictures of her there. 78.16.164.230 (talk) 23:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Considering you haven't even created account, calling for people to identify themselves is a bit rich coming from you. Squidlimerick (talk) 23:36, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
NPOV and dates
[edit]The section about presenters has had some of the NPOV removed, but there may be more in the main article. A note to whoever puts phrases like "this week" into the article - these become dated very quickly and should be avoided - try putting something like the week of September 1 2009 or whatever date is relevant. Autarch (talk) 12:42, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
More NPOV
[edit]Apparently there's some ongoing controversy regarding the topic of this article. One IP user is attempting to insert a link into the article that takes the viewer to a site set up to complain about Play TV Ireland. Placing the link in the main body of the article is a clear violation of WP:SPAM; placing it in the External Links section is a bit more problematic, since it's undoubtedly relevant, but also potentially WP:NPOV. My impulse is to exclude it completely, but I'd like to gain consensus from other editors. Alan (talk) 00:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
What link would this be Alan? I have removed a link to boards.ie many times. JG Murphy (talk) 11:53, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- Have removed an NPOV reference to boards.ie discussion thread, claiming it to be "professional complainants." With regard to a link to the Broadcasting Complaints commission. A link to the front page of the BCC website should be acceptable as it is a major part of the PlayTV story. direct links to the "how to complain" page in either the body or the links section of the page should be nuked. Squidlimerick (talk) 17:31, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
No. Of Calls
[edit]What is the number of calls allowed from one phone a night? According to the Sunday Tribune article, TV3 insists it is 50 calls from one phone. However the terms and conditions on Playtv's website says 40 calls. I've edited the article to take account of this discrepancy Phil Nolte (talk) 11:45, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Set
[edit]What exactly happened to do with the set and 'Martin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.107.90.240 (talk) 00:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- that should actually be referenced. It states "complaint were made" but no evidence. Phil Nolte (talk) 20:17, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Removal of controversy section
[edit]I propose the removal of the controversy section of the page.
1) it is poorly written for a start
2) it is nothing more than a chronological list of claims which do not have any citation backing them up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Squidlimerick (talk • contribs) 00:59, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Squidlimerick. I set up the controversy section. This was due to some things relating to the misspelling of "ladel" was in the presenter section while other parts that i put in controversy was in the "Games" section of it. I personally don't mind if it's deleted or not. However, i would say on the citation, the dates of the shows that these things happened so from there, it could be verified. Phil Nolte (talk) 20:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Statements towards TV3
[edit](Firstly, I am not affiliated with any organisations related to the programme)
"Play TV" is a show operated by Telemedia InteracTV, a global production company specialising in revenue-based programming. TV3, the Irish independent television company, have sold their late night/early morning broadcasting slot, in all fairness, to the company, who in exchange, will create and transmit "Play TV" from Hungary, with some level of revenue going to TV3.
In relation to the controversy and the issues raised by the show, is it right to point the finger, in the encyclopedic sense, towards TV3? Several statements and items in the article speak towards the Irish broadcaster, and not just the global producers of the programme. With independent respect to TV3 and all other parties, should the issues from the BCC not be directed at Telemedia InteracTV, and not TV3? It would make more sense, as essentially, TV3 don't hold *entire* control over the programme. The only legal responsibilities TV3 hold are the general decency and related suitable material broadcast on the network- which regardless of costs, and quality from "Play TV"- are quite adequate.
Un-biased opinions please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidlive (talk • contribs) 04:06, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Dave. I think from a BCC point of view, the terms of use of the bandwidth on the terrestrial space privoded by, i think, Department of Communications, is that TV3 is the licensee for the use of that space so from that, they are responsible for what is aired on that space. I would think maybe that the situation is difference when it comes to Digital tv but for terrestrial, they rent the space that holds the channel from the Irish government so in the eyes of the BCC, it is TV3's responsibility. Have i made a coherent point? Phil Nolte (talk) 12:21, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your clarifications, I appreciate that.
I am quite familiar with the legalities set down by the BAI (BCC+BCI), but I was still unsure on the legal grounds of this programme. I appreciate the feedback.

Update required &anuary 2010
[edit]The page requires an update and as am not much of a wiki expert I thought someone in the know might be able to do it
For the complaints section:
As of the January BAI meeting 10 more complaints were upheld against Play TV and three were rejected. http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0126/bcc.html
For the controversy section Voiceover in first broadcast of Broadcasting Authority decision omitted certain words from the decision. These words being "dishonest" and "unfair" http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/ireland/article7009679.ece —Preceding unsigned comment added by Squidlimerick (talk • contribs) 16:09, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
