How can Wikipedia have a page on this person?
[edit]This page appears to have been started by someone connected to Mittal and has a declared COI.
Mittal was appointed President of her own family's organization - the Jain Foundation. Mittal is NO expert in muscular dystrophy or in a specific field within it (i.e. dysferlinopathy). If Mittal was a recognized expert, there would have been a huge body of original peer reviewed publications in leading journals in the field worldwide. Mittal would have also received many national and international, prestigious scholarly awards and would have been named fellow of prestigious professional societies and/or be named a member of the national academies. She has made NO significant scholarly contributions and has not received any such recognitions based on original scientific work. In fact, a quick check on Google Scholar will indicate that there are almost NO scientific contributions whatsoever!!!!
The foundation has invested its resources in projects conducted independently by leading people in academia. The new venture that Mittal is leading is again connected to the same family foundation. Mittal is at best a family representative managing the family's foundation.... not the leading scientific authority that this wiki page seeks to imply. It is also debatable if Mittal's foundation has truly moved the field forward or has impeded its development.
This is the textbook example of pages that should be deleted immediately for complete lack of notability. Otherwise, everyone in a private organization will have a Wiki page!!!!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miyoshi2 (talk • contribs) 11:28, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
I agree with the comments made above. There is NO notability deserving of a separate Wiki page. Else there will be a Wiki page for the CEO of every small company in the world. Just in the field of diagnostics there are thousands of such companies! I recommend that this page be deleted for lack of notability. The person concerned has not contributed to any great scientific advance that is her own and significant. Projecting her as a great scientific mind is grossly misleading! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Low-depth Diagnostics (talk • contribs) 16:15, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
