Edits to bring up to date with information on GI-POF
[edit]I made a number of edits to bring this article more up to date and to rationalize it with the article Optical fiber. The latter article is mostly about the glass-based product and refers the reader to this article for information about the polymer-based product. I added heads and corrected punctuation.
I also added information on newer technology based on amorphous fluoropolymer (specifically poly(perfluoro-butenylvinyl ether), as an alternative to poly(methyl-methacrylate).
The article still lacks information on the use of POF for the purposes of illumination.
