Is a planner array different to a planar array or is this a spelling mistake? --Scott Davis Talk 10:14, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Is this the same thing as the Phased-array_radar? --User:NorsemanII 4:03, 14 February 2006 (PST)
- No, a planar array is mechanically steered in the same way a dish antenna is steered. A phased-array radar has a stationary antenna, the direction of the radar beam is steered electronically. See [[1]] for a better description of a planar-array radar.
- This article seems to be describing a particular Phased-array radar, the identity of which is not revealed. This particular radar seems to use a combination of mechanical steering to change horizontal direction and frequency change to change vertical direction.
- This article lacks references. Gerry Ashton 16:39, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
