New article
[edit]The new article includes the new information added after the sale of the Nashua Pride. It retains a fair amount of Pride history, which could probably get heavily reduced at this point. Looking forward to some more baseball next year! --Ken Gallager (talk) 14:24, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- But the article on Nashua Pride contains a suggestion that it go away in favor of this one! I hope the Pride history doesn't completely cease to exist. --Spike-from-NH (talk) 16:39, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I seem to be the only one who thinks the two teams are sufficiently different to require separate articles. If the two articles wind up getting re-merged, they will need to be both properly merged and re-written to play up the continuity between the two teams. --Ken Gallager (talk) 18:18, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't tip my hand above, but I too would like to see separate pages. In fact, there is a lot of Pride history not documented there. It is of intense interest to us fans, less so as the years go by. But lore about an extinct team is of relatively little interest to non-fans, and the American Defenders don't seem to be interested in building on their Pride heritage at all. I still have a Pride scorecard of each of the maybe 400 games I attended. Official Scorer Roger Pepin used to maintain a web site, posted live results there at the end of each half-inning, and once encouraged me to contribute more material, which I never did. It would be fun to have a place--probably not Wikipedia--to review the typical lineup and the typical starting rotation plus key relievers from each season. --Spike-from-NH (talk) 18:47, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
