Star Wars
[edit]"The duo are based off C-3PO and R2-D2 of the Star Wars series, who also provide comic relief and plot importance."
Pintel and Ragetti aren’t based on C-3PO and R2-D2. It could be said that the have a similar banter, maybe, but it seems irrelevant. I have no idea why this in the article.
The duo could be based on Star Wars characters, but not neccessarily C-3PO and R2-D2. I think there are also elements of Jar Jar Binks and other comic relief characters in the epic Star Wars saga. They are also very unique and individual, but comply with the same rules of making comic relief characters that George Lucas followed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.204.205 (talk) 02:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
mortal souls
[edit]I changed "Mortal souls" to immortal souls because that's what he said. There's never been a mortal soul that I know of. Jack Sparra 20:14, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Related?
[edit]I believe prior to the release of DMC, the actors stated that their characters would be revealed to be uncle and nephew in the film (Pintel being the uncle). Is there any truth to this? - 81.151.186.81 10:09, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- There are two theories about their relationship
1) They are uncle and nephew. The only proof for this is that actor Lee Arenberg maintains that Ragetti is Pintel's nephew & the son of a prostitute who is probably Pintel's sister. 2) They are a gay couple. Proofs for this theory are
- actor Mackenzie Crook has suggested that Ragetti might be gay. - Director Gore Verbinski jokingly described the two as more of a "married couple." - in a deleted scene in The Curse of the Black Pearl Pintel said "I used to date a eunuch".
- I doubt it, because
- In Curse of the Black Pearl, they both seem excited when Pintel tell's Elizabeth that if she doesn't eat with Barbossa, she'll eat with the crew naked. - In a deleted scene in Curse of the Black Pearl, they are shown getting excited when Elizabeth changes. - In At World's End, Ragetti is excited when he looks up Elizabeth's skirt through the cracks in Singapore.
Just because Pintel and Ragetti are attracted to women doesn’t mean that they aren't also a couple.
Personally I don’t see why both theories on Pintel and Ragetti’s relationship can’t be stated in the wiki article.
It is said somewhere they are related in some thing other than from Lee. anyway they don't act gay they act much more like old friends. and the old married Couple is an old saying not that there in love just that they fight a lot like R2-D2 and 3CP0 ok this is a dumb thing to tal
Calm down, mates! Look, I'm not sure how to source this, but on the Curse of the Black Pearl commentary, Johnny Depp says, in addition to that Gore "joke" quote, that Pintel and Ragetti are the "odd" gay couple. I'll get the actual quote up once I transcribe it sometime. BlackPearl14Pirate Lord-ess 00:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC) do they have to be gay? they are related as uncle and nephew so naturally they would hang together plus they totally attracted to women.I dont remember Pintel saying anything about dating in the movie or in the deleted scenes.(Jacoby the Blackbeard 06:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC))
Lee Arenberg said that Pintel is Ragetti’s Uncle. While MacKenzie Crook, in an interview on the daytime show Richard and Judy, stated that Ragetti was probably gay. In the films it is never says what Pintel and Ragetti’s relationship is exactly. Either explanation is plausible.
Velma's False Eye?
[edit]There needs to be some clarification as to just how Velma from Scooby Doo compares to Ragetti losing his false eye. Did she also have one that constantly fell out? I don't think this was the intended meaning, but that's how it reads. Please add more information.PNW Raven 14:52, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? Velma had glasses, not a false eye.--SUIT 17:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- i dont find that comparison in both articles.they are similar only in the fact that when lose the eye/glasses, they abandon every other action to refind it.but it is a very vague similarity.
Omniscient Ragetti?
[edit]Ragetti also displays a knack for knowing things he should have no clue about, such as why Jack, Will Turner, and Norrington each wants the heart of Davy Jones.
My impression, after watching this scene, was that Ragetti arrived first to witness the start of the fight, which is how he knew what each of the three duelists wanted. Seems to make more sense than suggesting Ragetti is psychic. Should this sentence be removed? Bhamv 13:42, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Hai Peng?
[edit]This article (as well as a few other articles in the Pirates of the CBN universe) uses the name of the fictional ship Hai Peng as a link; however this link leads to information about one 'Chang Hai-peng', a Chinese Northeastern Army general. I think the link should be removed or it should link to the Hai Peng ship info stub on the list of ships. Giovnni (talk) 07:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and made the correction; changing it to the same redirect for 'Hai Peng' used on the Barbossa page. This sub-section is only to explain that change. Giovnni (talk) 08:11, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
[edit]This article makes little sense if it doesn't incorporate On Stranger Tides. Anyone who can provide that info? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.196.161.112 (talk) 12:11, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- Simple. They aren't in On Stranger Tides. --Boycool (talk) 03:09, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
