There is no such thing as the "Pinot Noir passing-off controversy." You just made it up to make a point on another article. You should have your editing privileges blocked. Yopienso (talk) 08:13, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- Read Wikipedia:NAME#Descriptive titles at your leisure, please. The current title is descriptive of the event. This is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid, and we do not parrot political pejoratives for article titles. Tarc (talk) 23:28, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- You jest! Saying "Pinotgate" = "parroting political pejoratives"? At least you've given me some amusement. Ha-ha! Neither the San Francisco Chronicle (aka "SFGate"-lol) nor the Washington Post is too prim to call it "Pinotgate." http://articles.sfgate.com/2010-03-07/food/18378143_1_pinot-wine-giant-global-wine-market http://voices.washingtonpost.com/all-we-can-eat/wine/wine-pinot-gate-may-involve-mo-1.html All you have to do is put it in quotation marks, and no one will accuse Wikipedia of using cultural pejoratives. Same over at "Climategate"--just follow the lead of professional writers and use those handy little quotation marks.
- I've read the Wikipedia:NAME#Descriptive titles; next on my list is changing the title of the "Zipper" article to "Slide fastener." Let's see, and what would "Interlocking fastening discs" be, or "Hand tool consisting of a handle with a head of metal or other heavy rigid material that is attached at a right angle, used for striking or pounding." Oh, rats! I've no idea how to change a title! That'll keep me honest! :) Yopienso (talk) 01:14, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Gallo... Ernest or Julio?
[edit]Last paragraph: 'Gallo denied any prior knowledge of the fraud and was not accused of complicity. He has been accused by some of not sufficiently overseeing the quality and authenticity of wine purchased from suppliers.'
Who is 'HE'? At no previous point is an actual person named Gallo cited. Sebum-n-soda (talk) 18:24, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
