Recording date

The article currently states in the infobox that this album was recorded in autumn 1977, which is probably correct (though unreferenced). However, I remember around 1980 that there were persistent rumours that it had been recorded in 1976, predating the British punk explosion. The story was that the men in suits found it incomprehensible and delayed the release. This may be an urban myth, but a mention of it and a confirmation/refutation would improve the article.
