Pikes Peak Highway (operated by the City of Colorado Springs) Paula Vickerman, Marketing Director P.O. Nineteen miles to the top: first seven paved, the rest are maintained gravel. Location for the annual 4th of July Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb. Many hairpin turns.
Paving
[edit]I was up there on Labor Day in 2011 (mistake, got stuck behind two Harleys creeping round the corners at v < 10 mph) and it looked to me as though the only unpaved section was one which had previously been paved; it was just below Glen Cove and the brake temperature check. Mr Larrington (talk) 14:59, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
