HISTORY OF Pie, West Virginia was named many years ago after it's resident Mr. Leander Blankenship. Several news and magazine articles have been published concerning the naming of Pie. We have neighbors who are grandchildren and greatchilldren who can attest to the correctness of their patriarch's love for pie. Mr. Blankenship had great fondness for most any variety of homemade pie. Family members tell that he often would consume a whole baked pie at the dinner table.
