What actually qualifies something as a suburb?
[edit]So the original hamlet still exists( of which the only old bit is one farm) but seems irrelevant compared to the massive housing development. But what qualifies this as a suburb of Andover (a medium sized town) and not just a further expansion of it? I would informally call it a suburb, but I don’t actually know if thats correct :) thanks Eltaeb (talk) 14:56, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- Eltaeb This being an encyclopedia what "actually qualifies something" is a reliable source rather than what we as editors might think. Phrases such as 'Picket Twenty can therefore be considered' IMHO are WP:OR. Images are not usually thought of as being WP:RS. In general we do not qualify the size of settlements such as hamlets, villages, towns and cities in terms of size. WP:UKVILLAGES has some useful guidance.SovalValtos (talk) 19:14, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
thank you that’s really useful! Eltaeb (talk) 19:48, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
