Fair use rationale for Image:PHS logo.jpg
[edit]Image:PHS logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Events
[edit]I have moved the events section to here. Take from it what is encyclopedic, if anything.
The school runs many annual events, from common events such as dances and talent shows to student-made movie showings. Some more notable and unique ones are:
Food Frenzy: A "buy-in" event, where students pay to spend half a day outside to consume food, listen to local bands perform, and participate in events and games run by the school's various clubs. Funds raised go to each club or group.
East Meets West: Students organize a show and express the cultures of India and the West Indies (hence East meets West). Students do not have to be from either culture and may wish to join to expand their cultural understanding.
Music Marathon: The various instrumental and vocal groups put on performances from the beginning of the day, cycling each ensemble throughout the school day ensuring that performances are running each period. At night, another concert is performed for the parents of the students, or any others who may wish to come and listen. During the period between the end of class and the beginning of the night performance, various individuals or groups display their individual talents. From beginning to end, the event lasts for about 12 hours.
BattleChess: A new tradition at PHS for the last couple of years is the annual BattleChess, or "Living Chess", played with thirty two live players in costume on a giant board.
Renovations: Pickering High School has been given $20 million for renovations that are currently undergoing until late 2009. Among the planned additions and changes are a new cafetorium, gymnasium, parking lots, working and clean water fountains, 400m track, with practice fields, and new hallways with all new classrooms and workshops on both the main and upper levels. 250,000ft² of added on building, see construction plans at the front doors of the school for more details.

Infobox
[edit]I updated information in the infobox. After I added the logo and feeder schools the infobox seemed to increase in width. Is this something that will resolve itself or should some setting be changed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrKasprzak (talk • contribs) 13:28, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
