I am adding articles about Operation BIM (http://www.operationbim.com) and other research about mangosteen products. I would like the scientific team and the project to be known in wikipedia. I am the representative for these research projects and I have consent to publisch this information. Mryaz (talk) 09:53, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- Then please read about notability requirements, posting reliable sources, donating copyrighted materials, conflicts of interest, and how Wikipedia works. -- Alexf(talk) 17:49, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- I do not think much of it was copyvio from the source given, and I suspect it would meet WP:BIO or WP:PROF, so I declined the speedy and I'm doing a little rewriting. DGG ( talk ) 17:57, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- @DGG: I just came across this in the notability backlog and cut it back. Obviously defer to your WP:PROF expertise, but what was added after your edits was likely a copyvio from a PDF given spacing, although I can't find the source. Any suggestions on where to find secondary sources or know of any Thai speaking editors? Star Mississippi 14:14, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- I shall ask my friend and colleague, Kudpung. But if they published, it might be in English, and I shall check that also. You were absolutely right to remove the potential medical applications,, which need a high quality citation. DGG ( talk ) 04:55, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you DGG. I don't believe I've "met" Kudpung. I found some research, but not well cited enough to meet WP:PROF. I have no doubt he does have more than enough through the long career, we just haven't found it yet. Star Mississippi 20:24, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- There are two different sets of research fields that give this sort of problem: First, people trying to work under handicaps in the major fields of importance in the most scientifically developed systems, for whom I have sympathy, but still expect them to come close to the world-wide standard. Second, is those people working in fields of local importance, and that includes agricultural research in local products. This material does not usually get cited or indexed in western journals, though there are some specialized indexes in existence that cover them. Even in their region, there are not many journals in these fields , and the publication is country specific, even when in English (as it often is these days) In these cases, I do not expect the same quantitative levels. No matter who works on them, the interest is more limited, and we looking at WP:PROF for influence in the relevant field.
- BTW, my friend thinks it's outside the range of what he wants to do now. o DGG ( talk ) 21:31, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
