Birthname
[edit]Regarding this text:
Brooks was born Phyllis Weiler[1] (some sources cite Phyllis Steiller as her birth name.)
there is something odd. If she were born Weiler or Steiller, how come her brother was writer Norman A. Brooks?
If she wasn't born with the surname Brooks but both she and her only known sibling carried that surname then it may have been via adoption by a stepfather. Just conjecture I know. More info should be available from ancestry.com next time I go to the library. For now "birthname" speculation should be left out, IMO. Quis separabit? 16:17, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
