Dunder Mifflin

[edit]

I am going through several articles and changing instances of "Dunder-Mifflin" to "Dunder Mifflin" (no hyphen) as it is the proper "spelling" of the company name (see Talk page at Dunder Mifflin). Just leaving a note to say that I've gone through this page. :) Fieryrogue 16:59, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this scene deleted?

[edit]

Phyllis seats Angela next to Dennis, a religious man. The two get along well, but when Dennis asks Angela for her telephone number, Angela tells him she's already having intimate relations with someone. Dennis apologizes, saying "Phyllis neglected to mention your promiscuity."

This isn't a deleted scene, is it? Or is it only in the DVD version that it appears within the regular body of the show? 192.197.178.2 (talk) 13:53, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possessive punctuation

[edit]

The correct punctuation for a singular possessive (i.e. referring to one person named Phyllis) is Phyllis's.
Phyllis' is a plural possessive, indicating more than one person named Phyllis.

Unfortunately, the producers of the DVD containing this episode have gotten the spelling wrong on the DVD and its packaging, but NBC has also been known to spell Phyllis's correctly on its website.

Reverting and/or altering good faith edits without discussion, and especially without admitting what you're doing in your edit summary (as in these edits [1] and [2], by User 72.250.218.148) is extremely impolite and borders on vandalism.--TyrS (talk) 01:51, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, what edit are you linking to by me? Because I never made that edit. I just reverted vandalism as you can see here. 20:59, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Drovethrughosts (talk)
Many apologies, Drovethrughosts. In the attempt to track down where the spelling change had been made I got mixed up and it looked like it was your edit. I've altered my post above. Again, I'm really sorry about that.--TyrS (talk) 22:00, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mix-ups happen. No problem. Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:26, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your link is rubbish. It says either is used, but s' rather than s's is the most used version. You labelling these edits "vandalism" is farcical and frankly wrong. Did you not learn at school that "s's" is wrong? No-one I've ever seen uses this, just you. Paralympiakos (talk) 13:22, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like you should wait a few years until you try to participate in a grown-up forum, Paralympiakos.--TyrS (talk) 03:08, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode-Number

[edit]

There is a mistake in the numbering of episodes:

IMDB counts one less than Wikipedia does. Due to a double-episode

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Office_(U.S._season_3)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386676/episodes?season=3

somebody please figure out how this is solved. 84.72.254.113 (talk) 20:43, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Image: This really isn't needed and doesn't have a good rationale
  • Intro: I would move the bit about the drums to the third paragraph and add a bit about guest stars to the first
  • Synopsis: "Dwight doesn't…" -> "Dwight does not…"
  • Synopsis: "his and Pam's song." Maybe add what that song is. I can't remember off the top of my head…
  • Production: "his fifth such credit for the series" Is there a cite for this?
  • Production: "It features the first wedding from the series." I feel this is a tad clunky. Maybe "The episode is the first of the series to revolve around a wedding."
  • Reception: graded the episode with an A -> graded the episode with an "A" Add quotes
  • References: Ref. 5 and 11 have quote issues
  • Categories: Make sure they're in alphabetical order. Just a little nit picky. ;)

That's all I could find. Good article! On hold.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 03:10, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
