article move

[edit]

Why was this article moved to Phrynosomatinae from Phrynosomatidae? There's no citation in the article or edit history that suggests this is a valid taxonomic revision, and scientific consensus (e.g. Wiens et al. 2012; Reptile-Database) has the Phrynosomatidae as a family within Iguania, and Iguanidae sensu stricto (Iguana, Dipsosaurus, Sauromalus, etc.) also as a family within Iguania. This seems to be needless edit warring instigated by User:Lavalizard101 and unless there's a good, recent citation, I'd like to move the articles back to the scientific consensus. As it stands, this article is confusing and disruptive for people studying the systematics of California lizards. Homo sapiens (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PhrynosomatinaePhrynosomatidae – Move page back to its accepted scientific name. It was originally moved here to reflect a change in classification however this has since been overturned by several athors (Wiens, 2012 being one). Lavalizard101 (talk) 17:13, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
