Google

[edit]

I just learned from [1] that Google apparently acquired Photomath earlier this year, but it appears this flew over everyone's heads (including mine). I did some digging online and found that virtually none of the major tech outlets (Verge, TechCrunch, CNET) noticed this, and I only found this Reuters source stating that the acquisition was approved in March and initiated last May. However, I have thus far been unable to find a source that confirms the deal was closed. The Variety source is technically enough, but it would be better if we found a source that definitively states the acquisition was completed. Did some more sleuthing online and found this Reddit thread (which we obviously can't use). Someone there posted a link to [2], which is in Croatian, but it has what we need. I'm not familiar with the source (Jutarnji list), but given it's apparently one of the largest newspapers in Croatia, I think we should be fine. The founder's LinkedIn page also confirms the June 2023 date when his employer was changed to Google. Thanks, Reddit. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:51, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
