It would be really helpful if someone could add textual notes, please.

Many of Dame Ngaio's references are getting outdated & are no longer so easily accessible. A book by book set of notes would be handy & a useful thing to add whilst the majority of her cultural nods are still comprehensible.

I came looking for guidance about a reference to adding 'Pour' to guests' names on their doors. The section is in Chapter 11, paragraph 3, & begins, mid-paragraph, "The guests' names were inserted in near little slots on their doors". There's an allusion to a difference in status between characters but it's not clear how this works, nor which one benefits by the difference. 86.25.10.242 (talk) 01:27, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
