Missing articles from 1985

[edit]

The article as written does not acknowledge the work of Glembocki et. al. from 1985 that reignited the interest in photoreflectance after interest waned in the 1970’s. The critical article is O. J. Glembocki, B. V. Shanabrook, N. Bottka, W. T. Beard, J. Comas; Photoreflectance characterization of interband transitions in GaAs/AlGaAs multiple quantum wells and modulation‐doped heterojunctions. Appl. Phys. Lett. 15 May 1985; 46 (10): 970–972.

This work started significant research into using photoreflectance to character new semi-insulating materials that produced III-V and II-VI semiconductor quantum wells, super lattices and heterojunctions. Further more this work showed that the mechanisms in these structures were not 3rd derivative as in bulk materials but first derivative. That was discussed in 1987in:

Photoreflectance modulation mechanisms in GaAs-AlxGa1−xAs multiple quantum wells B. V. Shanabrook, O. J. Glembocki, and W. T. Beard Phys. Rev. B 35, 2540(R) – Published 15 February 1987

Without including this work, a discussion cannot be accurate. In fact Dr. Glembocki was elected Fellow of the APS in 1996. The citation is:
