Correct casing?
[edit]I notice that inside this article, and also in common usage reflected by a web search for the term, photo-Dember is the most common casing of this term, not photo-dember. I noticed that photo-Dember redirects to photo-dember. I have seen one instance where the less common usage was favored in another article linking here. Not a big deal, but I was just curious if anyone knows why the lower case d was favored, even though Dember is the name of the discoverer. CosineKitty (talk) 15:33, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Corrected. (Perhaps the meaning of Dember was last at some point here). Materialscientist (talk) 00:49, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Change article name?
[edit]In a cursory glance at literature on this topic, I noticed that it is usually referred to as the photo-Dember effect or photo-Dember field. General readers who come across the existing name of this article in searches will find it enigmatic (I did); they won't even know what grammatical part of speech it is: noun? verb? adjective? Is photo-Dember a European camera company? A technique for processing digital images? A quality of lighting found in 18th century paintings? I propose that the name of the article be changed to one of the two names above. This will make the topic a little less mysterious and indicate it is in the field of science. --ChetvornoTALK 08:37, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
