[edit]

The site of the crash in the info box is incorrect. The coordinates are spitting out a position that is 3/4 of a mile to the South. I tried to correct it yesterday but it was reverted.

Ah. That's because I didn't include seconds, on the pattern of Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907. Your (correct) links are still at the bottom; I moved them because they took up a lot of infobox real estate. Your point is well taken, though, because this is an urban area. I'll change the first reference to latitude and longitude accordingly.-- The_socialist talk? 16:27, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I knew it was taking up a bit much, didn't know how to shrink it.

Naming the victims

[edit]

It's really bad form for us to not name all 4 in the lead (especially when it's supported by the citation) so I have added this information. 68.146.47.196 23:18, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional details need sources

[edit]

I have added a paragraph regarding the fact one of the helicopters (but apparently not the other) was broadcasting live when the collision happened. I also mentioned the AP photograph that has widely circulated. Both these need links so if anyone can add them, please do. I understand YouTube links are not allowed, so another link will need to be included. The reporter can be heard screaming on the YouTube clip after the collision, but I chose to use more neutral wording. 68.146.47.196 14:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sharp Echo

[edit]

The information in the article about Sharp Echo is misleading. Sharp Echo is a letter of agreement with the Phoenix Sky Harbor tower that most local helicopter operators -- not just ENG operators -- have signed on to. It lays out communication between pilots and the PHX tower for operations within PHX surface airspace. It really doesn't have anything to do specifically with ENG. The frequency helicopter pilots monitor in the area to talk to each other is usually 123.025.

I'm thinking that the Sharp Echo section should be removed. If it isn't, someone needs to introduce the PHX tower role in this -- which I understand was minimal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mlanger (talkcontribs) 14:56, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I fixed the link to the preliminary report, which was broken, replacing it with a link to the probable cause report. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mlanger (talkcontribs) 15:20, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Verdict

[edit]

The bad guy that the cops were chasing at the time of the crash has plead guilty. That information has been added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jms011 (talkcontribs) 04:53, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How exactly did the two helicopters collide? What I mean is, what part of helicopter A struck what part of helicopter B? --Whoop whoop pull up (talk) 12:39, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Police Scanner

[edit]

I wanted to add links to the police scanner audio, but I don't know the most applicable place to put it or quite frankly how to mention it in an objective manner. Currently dead due to rearrangment of NTSB site leaving this question for an experienced editor to decide: a: replace with current address of report http://www.ntsb.gov/investigations/AccidentReports/Reports/AAR0902.pdf or b: go to an internet archive link eg. http://web.archive.org/web/20140723054652/http://www.ntsb.gov/doclib/reports/2009/AAR0902.pdf not sure which is better 188.29.113.234 (talk) 00:44, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
