Question
[edit]Why was so much of the material predating the creation of MondoWeiss deleted, instead of simply adding material about his website to the rest of the article?
Ruthfulbarbarity (talk) 23:12, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
It went from a small but informative article to essentially being a stub. I'm just curious as to why that happened.

- It's been corrected. Some people just don't want anything about Weiss or Mondoweiss on wikipedia. CarolMooreDC 23:23, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]I recommend this page be merged into Mondoweiss. The individual generally lacks notability outside of that enterprise as shown by the general absence of reliable secondary sources provided for this article. In my view, the information on this page and for Mondoweiss co-creator Adam Horowitz would be presented in the "background" or a new "foundation" or "creators" section. - I spent a little time search Highbeam particularly for WP:RS mentions, descriptions, etc. of Weiss and found a LOT of stuff. I'll list some here and put some in. But there were many many pages left when I got tired. So I don't think a merge effort will be very successful. CarolMooreDC 02:44, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Good WP:RS on Weiss
[edit]Some of it obviously also is related to Mondoweiss, but most in Weiss-centered. I'm trying to finish off other things now, but others can feel free to use the material. Highbeam material just from first couple pages of a generalized Highbeam search. (I also have seen a lot of hits on Questia but haven't investigated yet.) If you can't get highbeam and really want to use something mention it here, or via email, and I'll see what we can do.
- Interview: Philip Weiss, author of "American Taboo: A Murder in the Peace Corps", NPR Morning Edition, 2004; so he's the guy who wrote about PeaceCorps lack of concern with a male member killing a female one; need more info about his involvement in peace corps cause get impression he was in it himself, per note in some other source.
- 2011 Bio article, from The Tablet but more balanced than others I've seen from it on him.
- Gary Kamiya on Salon articles with paragraphs on him: 2007 and 2009
- AIPAC turns away 3 journalists from Israel-critical sites, March 2, 2012 (including Weiss who had been allowed in in previous years)

criticism
[edit]was entirely about Mondoweiss. The ADL piece says that Mondoweiss has gotten a grant, not that Weiss has. All it says about Weiss is that he edits the site. We already include that (obviously). All of that is covered in the article on the site, it isnt relevant to Weiss' blp. Additionally, the Algemeiner piece is a reprint of a blog by Elderofziyon, and it is not an acceptable source in a BLP. nableezy - 02:48, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
