How many?
[edit]It says "200-300 hundred iron lungs" How many is that? RJFJR 02:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

The iron lung
[edit]Philip Drinker contained a paragraph about the iron lung, mostly irrelevant to the Philip Drinker article and mostly redundant with information already in iron lung. So I cut it.
There were a few sentences that contained information not already in one of these two articles; I have preserved them below. I have not been able to verify them. If you can verify that one of them is true, please add it into the appropriate article or articles and cite the source. If you can verify that one of them is false, please delete it from here (or leave a note explaining how you know it is false).
- One problem with the iron lung is that food or vomit may be inhaled into the lungs; consequently, patients must be closely monitored during use.
- Drinker also developed a smaller pressure chamber for maintaining respiration in newborn babies.
- His [Drinker's] study of the hazards of exposure to lead and airborne dust led to these inventions [iron lung and smaller ventilator for newborns].

No mention of Mary Amdur? Really?
[edit]Just check the other article. I'd say their cordial relationship is definitely worth mentioning. --Oop (talk) 23:53, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
