Notability

I think the best notability metric for this person are the search results for '"Phil Parshall" muslim' in Google books (put "Muslim" in to weed out any other Phil Parshalls): 9330 hits. A fairly substantial number. --BoogaLouie (talk) 14:52, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

His academic footprint is missing (no reviews in JSTOR for example) which I would blame on lack of interest of secular academia in Evangelical missionaries and vice versa, rather than lack of notability. --BoogaLouie (talk) 15:06, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The criteria for a notable person should be attested to by secondary sources. If the person is not notable as a "secular academic," can he be shown as notable based on secondary Evangelical sources? At the moment, only one source in the article shows this possibility. Looks like the debate on Parshall's notability lost momentum around 2018, but here's a note, just to lay it to rest. A full biography of this figure was published last year: Nehrbass, Kenneth. The Life and Impact of Phil Parshall: Connecting with Muslims. United States: William Carey Publishing, 2021. This article's subject is a notable figure by a number of measures, not the least of which is by "more than one secondary source."
