Is this page meant to cover International Pipeline or just US?
[edit]Most references are FDA. Is this a page on US drug development? what about EC UK or Japan? 24.246.137.99 (talk) 16:29, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- The article sources show that the phases of clinical trials described are used worldwide, including mention by the World Health Organization. It can be assumed that approval of a drug or any medical product for marketing in the USA, as regulated by the FDA, is a goal most manufacturers wish to achieve for the size and visibility the US market provides. This may explain why FDA sources - which are rigorous and updated frequently - are useful explanations for the trial process in the article.
- Also used by multinational trial sponsors, the US National Library of Medicine provides a registry of clinical trials in their different phases ongoing or completed around the world. Zefr (talk) 17:35, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
