Merge suggestion

[edit]

There's an article titled phase cutting that appears to be the same topic under a different name. I suggest merging. I don't know which title to use, as "phase control" is the title I would use...Ccrrccrr 19:33, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phase Control = PFC?

[edit]

Hey, for me PFC means "Power Factor Correction", not Phase Control (Where is the F in it anyway?) Is there any reference for this? Otherwise I would suggest to delete this abbreviation. --91.1.200.86 (talk) 14:51, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Möwe[reply]

Why is the current title pluralised? And should Phase cut controller redirect here?--213.48.132.203 (talk) 08:19, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rectified phase animation?

[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phase-fired_controller#/media/File:Regulated_rectifier.gif

Is the animated gif accurate? It looks like it is rectified but it in't clear where the rectification is happening. If it is plain AC through a Thyristor, shouldn't it have a half-wave gap while it is reverse biased during the negative part of the cycle? Drf5n (talk) 17:55, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Here is my own animation of a phase-fired non-rectified AC:
